The allocation of school places for starting at primary school in Reception  or school transfers within Years 1-6  are coordinated through Solihull Local Authority (SMBC) The admission arrangements for each academic year in Solihull community and voluntary-controlled schools can be viewed on SMBC's website here:  Solihull admissions

Schools must admit children up to their admission limit. For Dorridge Primary School, this limit is 90 per year group from Reception through to Year 2.  In Years 3 to Year 6, classes are limited to 32 children.  Any decisions to take class sizes over the limit are made solely by the Local Authority.

The deadline for Reception 2027 is January 2027. The offer day will be in April 2027.

Nursery Admissions

Our Nursery Provision

At our nursery, we’re proud to offer a caring, stimulating, and happy environment where every child can thrive. Our provision is designed to give families flexibility and choice, while ensuring that our sessions are fair, transparent, and in line with the Department for Education’s Early Education and Childcare Statutory Guidance.

Below you’ll find details of how our sessions are organised and how the funding and charges work. Alongside the Nursery hours, parents can also apply for a place in Breakfast and Teatime club at our Darby's provision, allowing children to start at 7.45am and finish at 6pm.
