Here at Dorridge Primary School, we take the welfare and wellbeing of our pupils – and their parents and carers – very seriously. We understand that children learn best when they feel safe, supported and happy, both in school and at home.

Mrs Heather Davies and Mrs Nikki Mayers are our friendly Family Support Workers. Their role is to provide pastoral care for pupils and to offer support, guidance and practical advice to families whenever they need it. They work closely with staff, children, parents and teaching staff to help address any challenges that may affect a child’s emotional, social or academic development. They can help with:-

· Social difficulties including building resilience and confidence

· Attendance or punctuality issues

· Changes at home that may be affecting your child including bereavement

· Offering practical advice relating to parenting support, routines and boundaries

· Signposting to external agencies and additional services

· A confidential listening ear for any worries or anxieties you or your child may have
