At Dorridge Primary School, communication and language are at the heart of our curriculum and underpin all areas of learning. We provide a language-rich environment where children are encouraged to talk, listen, question and share their ideas with confidence.

Through high-quality interactions, storytelling, role play, discussions and carefully planned experiences, children develop their vocabulary, speaking and listening skills throughout the day. Adults carefully model language, extend conversations and support children to express their thoughts, feelings and ideas clearly.

Children are given regular opportunities to develop their communication skills through play, collaborative learning and meaningful experiences, helping them to become confident communicators and successful learners.
