Spring Term In Nursery
During the Spring term, children continue to grow in confidence and independence as they become more familiar with Nursery routines and expectations. Our curriculum focuses on the key concepts of Exploration and Responsibility, encouraging children to investigate the world around them, ask questions and begin taking greater responsibility for themselves and their environment.
Children continue to develop their communication and language skills through high-quality stories, singing, discussions and imaginative play. Carefully chosen core texts such as The Gruffalo, Superworm, Somebody Swallowed Stanley and The Enormous Turnip help children to explore themes including friendship, teamwork, caring for the environment and problem solving.
Throughout the term, children take part in a wide range of hands-on experiences including planting, investigating seasonal change, exploring minibeasts and engaging in creative and sensory play. Opportunities for early maths, mark making, fine motor development and imaginative play are carefully woven throughout the provision to support children’s next steps in learning.
As children’s confidence develops, they are encouraged to become increasingly independent, resilient and curious learners through both child-led exploration and adult-supported experiences.
